What is Mindfulness?

Much of our daily lives are spent rushing from place to place, checking for updates on social media, ruminating about the past or worrying about the future. In our incessant busyness, life can pass as by, and we miss the chance to be fully alive.

 

Mindfulness is a way of being fully in touch with the present moment. Through mindfulness we learn to come home to our body, to rest and be at ease. By coming home to our body we have a chance to be in touch with life and gain much needed nourishment. We also are able to come in touch with our suffering with a compassionate and open heart and so realize healing.

 

Mindfulness is a practice of cultivating present-moment awareness, and this brings inner transformation. With mindfulness we are able to touch into our natural capacities for healing, joy and compassion, and in so doing we connect with our power to act with wisdom and love.
